Meet the team : Olivier Martin-Schmets new CEO
WideTech has named Olivier Martin-Schmets as Chief Executive Officer. The position was previously held by two Co-CEOs. With the retirement of Alain Niessen, WideTech has decided to simplify the organization by appointing a single CEO. Bruno Vrielynck, founder and former Co-CEO, will remain Chief Technical Officer and Chairman of the Board.
Olivier Martin-Schmets comes with a solid background in the industry where he has held Senior Management positions in large organizations. Former Vice President and General Manager at Ecolab, a fifty billion dollar company, he is also a Board member of four companies including Kersia, a multinational company based in France.
Olivier Martin-Schmets will focus primarily on the commercial development of WideTech from a start-up to a scale-up company by expanding the business both locally and internationally.
"WideTech was founded ten years ago and developed a software called WiDE. The business had a solid foundation with a great customer base including Total Energies, Arkema, John Cockerill or Yara just to name a few. I'm very excited to join the Widetech family, a team of highly skilled professionals, and to contribute to the company's future success”. - Olivier Martin-Schmets said.

Wide transition to React
"What's dangerous is not to evolve."
Jeff Bezos
Our WiDE software is evolving from AngularJS to React for its development.
React offers increased performance, flexibility and ease of maintenance. We have noticed a significant improvement in page load speed and a smoother user experience that will make the interface more enjoyable to use.
In addition, React allows for more efficient collaboration between developers thanks to its "component" structure.
The transition to React will make our WiDE software more powerful and easier to use for our customers. We are confident that this transition will bring new benefits to every customer.
Launch planned for mid 2023 !

WiDE - Connection to Bazefield
In these times of ecological transition, the importance of investing in green energy is paramount. Wind power is clean and environmentally friendly, which is why WideTech is committed to it.
Bazefield is an asset management and analysis tool focused on power plants (solar, wind and hydro).
Through a custom integration, WiDE can now read data from the Bazefield Web API and monitor wind turbine production to in the end generate green certificates.
